Tufty the Tufted Duck update

You may remember last year a blog post informing you that Tufty would be receiving a ‘make-over’?  Our volunteer artist Amanda has been in touch with her latest developments toward the completion of a kids’ story depicting a year in the life of breeding tufted ducks at Loch Leven NNR.

The story is planned to be 11 pages long, and the text will be derived from the current Tufty the Tufted Duck educational resource provided to local primary schools.  The artwork so far will feature at this year’s Discovery Day on Sunday 8th June, and has so far provided us with inspiration for some exclusive hoodies, currently worn by my niece and nephew, and soon to be modeled by reserve manager Neil’s new born son!

We hope that Amanda will have the project completed later this year, so that we can provide online access to what is sure to be a fantastic and engaging kids’ story.
