With our forthcoming reserve management plan in draft, we’re offering stake-holders, local businesses and members of the public the opportunity to share their thoughts on the future of Loch Leven National Nature Reserve. We’re running a period of consultation between 5th March and 15th April, starting at the Better Place to Live Fair at the Loch Leven Community Campus, where Area Manager Denise Reed and I will be hosting a stall and inviting people to contribute ideas and opinions on the current draft of the plan.
Your opportunity to comment on the sunrise over a new era at Loch Leven
A stake-holders’ meeting will be hosted on Wednesday 9th March, before the Chairman’s Public Evening Reception takes place at the Green Hotel between 7pm and 9pm.
Local people will undoubtedly be interested to know what Scottish Natural Heritage envisages for the future of Loch Leven, as a key part of their community and an increasingly popular destination for them as well as visitors to the area. With access having improved dramatically since the completion of the Loch Leven Heritage Trail, plans for the next 10 years must take into account the increase in visitors, and how these visitors are able to enjoy and appreciate this special place.
Please come along and have a chat with us at the Better Place to Live Fair, drop in to the Chairman’s Reception, pick up one of the Management Plan Consultation leaflets that will soon be available locally, or email us directly at LOCHLEVEN_NNR@snh.gov.uk.
