Check out Martin Pettinger’s photography from a recent gull ringing trip to St Serfs Island.
I had the honour of accompanying SNH on their gull ringing trip to St Serfs Island on Loch Leven at the beginning of July. Conditions were scorching hot with very bright light and not really ideal for landscape photography. Instead I used the high contrast and dramatic skies to create a dramatic set of black and white images. To view large versions of the images please click on them.
Particular thanks to Neil Mitchell of SNH for allowing me to join the volunteers on the sheep boat. I hope the images I have provided on disc are suitable for your own publicity material. I will always remember the sound of the 100’s of gulls wheeling in the sky as you ringed the youngsters. The images I took meanwhile are ideal for a chapter of my forthcoming book “Around the Loch in 80 days”
