We have eggs! But which ones?

So there’s a wide range of birds that nest on St Serf’s through the spring months.  After one visit yesterday, here are pictures of a few of the nests we found- can you figure out which species they belong to?

We had:

1. Greylag Goose

2. Barnacle Goose

3. Oystercatcher

4. Lesser Black-backed Gull

5. Shoveler

as well as

6. Swallow nests occupying the old bird hides on the island.

Match the numbers to the letters, answers on a postcard (or on the blog!).  All correct answers win a trip over to St Serf’s in a couple of weeks to assist with the annual gull counts, where you’ll get the opportunity to see many of these nests, and more, first-hand.
